Gary's 40th Birthday

...was spent on tour in Canada. It was the last full day of tour, and our last performance was that night. We started out doing a presentation on the show in a museum that morning (appropriate, since it was about art), then had a nice picnic lunch with the team. Then we went to the theater to set up for the show.  I got to do a yoga warmup for everyone, and we had a costume party, reenacting the dances with whoever wanted to try them! So silly and so fun.

 It was a lovely theater, and the audience was amazing. One of our best performances! It was very emotional too, as our last performance and Gary's birthday celebration. Gary and Jennie both snuck into Guboot. We were all bawling during finale. I was so grateful to those dancers for making Gary's birthday the best 40th birthday we EVER could have asked for. There's no way we would have rather celebrated his life!

We took individual pics with most of our lovely dancers, and we love them all. This is us with Nascar (Danica) and Becca Urie.

And then came the drive home. For the first time the whole trip, I got carsick - grateful it wasn't more often! We were so excited to get home and see our kids, who were being babysat by some of our earlier dance best buddies from the Russia tour, Tad and Deedee Sakota. But I will always love our other, Canada "dance babies!"
